ARUPADAI VEEDU MURUGAN TEMPLE,BESANT NAGAR,CHENNAI


Arupadai veedu temple in besant nagar is a unique piece of architecture and it houses all the six famous temples of murugan situated in different parts of tamilnadu,located in kalakshetra colony of besant nagar it stands as a divine gift to the people of chennai, the temple has separate sannidhis depicting the arupadai veedu, the first sannidhi is swamimalai swaminatha swami facing northeast while a huge vel made of stone stands in front of his sannidhi,followed by thiruchendur balasubramaniya swami in the east,pazhamudirsolai murugan and thiruparankundram subramanyaswami in the south,palani dhandayuthabani in the west and finally thiruthani sri bala subramanya swami in the north west direction. The temple is a stone temple and no doubt that it'll stand for centuries portraying the dravidian architecture the corridors and the pillars have a good sculptures in them, murugar has settled here from different corners of tamilnadu his brother vinayagar has fled from Newyork to settle in the capital of tamilnadu,Newyork mahavallaba ganapathi has separate sannidhi placed in the center of the temple,in thiruparankundram murugan sannidhi shivan has a seperate sanidhi were he stays in form of lingam,navagrahas and bhairavar have seperate sannidis near swaminadha swami sanidhi.
Near palani murugan sanidhi in the temple has a beautiful idols depicting valli thirumanam attracts our eyes,monthly kirthigai,shasti yearly thaipoosam,aadikirthigai,kandha shasti,panguni uthiram are celebrated by the devotees here.The temple is situated behind besant nagar ashtalakshmi temple in kalashetra colony in thirumurugan street.Besant nagar depot is the nearest bus stop for this temple.
