In the busy roads of mylapore (royapettah highroad) near thani thurai market,a temple dedicated for sri ramar and anjaneyar stands silently crossing 300 years in the history and said to be oldest anjaneyar temple in chennai, attracts people everyday especially on thursday and saturdays.Sri ramar in standing posture named as kothanda ramar stands in a separate sannidhi along with sita devi and his brother lakshmana while baktha anjaneyar stands there with folded hands near lakshmana,utsavamurthi of lord rama,sita devi,lakshmana and anjaneyar along with mahalakshmi share the sannidhi.
In Anjaneyar sannidhi lord can be seen in standing posture with krishna along with sathyabama and rukamani devi.The entrance of his sannidhi is guarded by two vanara devas people apply butter and sendhuram on them,yearly hanuman jayathi is celebrated in a grand manner latcharchanai(லட்சார்ச்சனை) is conducted for three days people can pay 100 Rs to participate in it.Fridays the temple conducts mahalakshmi pooja for 25Rs at 6.00pm.Thirumylai(mylapore) railway station is the nearest railway station and the temple is situated very near to mylapore sanskrit college.
